Runde harbour²

Runde is a Norwegian island known for its abundant birdlife and historical shipwrecks. It’s located in Møre og Romsdal county and is connected to another island by a bridge. The island hosts a significant population of seabirds, protected by the Goksøyr Mires Nature Reserve. One notable historical event is the sinking of the Dutch ship Akerendam in 1725, whose treasure was rediscovered centuries later. Today, the Runde Environmental Centre serves as a research station and tourism hub on the island.
